Hey there!
So, I've been here for a bit trying to come up with something witty, and honestly, I've convinced myself that writing about myself just isn't my thing. So let's skip the fancy stuff and get to know each other so we can feel a bit more comfortable, shall we?
Séron Mòran is the alter ego of Sergio. I live in Madrid, but I'd much rather be in Amsterdam. Fun fact: I have no sense of smell, but from what I hear, it's mostly useful for complaining when something stinks anyway. I've had a bunch of blogs that didn't make it because I totally abandoned them – oops! I grew up in a house full of art, which is probably why I chose engineering as my degree. The whole camera thing came along a few years later.
I'm into constructed photography. I love heading to amazing places with awesome people. Light is everything! My style is direct, but not simple. I bring out the most personal side of people. Naturalness is key for me, and I need to believe the story the photo tells. I'm obsessed with getting the result in-camera, not on the computer. I'm passionate about mixing sunlight with battery-powered flashes. I like to travel light so my ideas don't outpace me. I always carry a camera with me, so that last one doesn't always work out!
And since I've been rambling on about what I like, let's talk about what I don't. The second thing I dislike most is bios written in the third person, because we all know you wrote it yourself! The first is lentils. I've just never bought into that whole "lots of iron" thing.
But hey, we're not going to hang out to talk about food, but to see what we can create together. Drop me a line at hola@sergiomoratilla.com!
